Holiday Hot Chocolate

In this simple recipe we took two cups of milk, a quarter cup of sugar, and around one half to one cup of Belgian semi-sweet chocolate pieces. The milk is heated to a simmer then it is removed from the heat. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave safe container until it is smooth, and slowly whisk the chocolate and sugar into the milk until combined. More sugar can be added if you prefer it sweeter. We had the two versions each with an ounce of peppermint schnapps and an ounce of an Irish cream.
